A Spooky Night

It was unusually windy on Sunday night, November 1st. The winds were howling and trees shaking and dropping leaves all night long. Around 10:00 PM, my son MIchael, who was sitting at his computer desk near the front windows in the living room, asked me if I heard a weird sound. I told him no, but look outside the front door and check the porch.

When he opened the front door, he didn’t see anything or hear the noise. Five minutes later, he opened the door again and heard the weird howling sound coming from the porch. “See, he said, I told you there was a ghostly sound coming from just outside the window.” It turned out to be a ghost we had strung up on the front porch that travels on a cable back and forth while emitting a piercing scream. The wind was so strong, it activated the ghost without turning on the switch below the batteries!

I asked Michael to bring the ghost inside, so I could remove the batteries and store him safely for next Halloween. A truly bizarre occurrence, one that had never happened before!

  1. That’s a pretty funny story! The gusts of wind were really fierce that night, rattling the whole house. I was surprised it didn’t take off any shutters or shingles.
