Cousin Fun!

This past weekend was a great one, because most of the cousins were able to get together at my house and have a great time! Ari and Michael joined forces to play on Friday and Saturday during the day into the evening. Whenever Ari and MIchael get together fun happens! They really enjoy playing with their Uncle Mike. He knows how to entertain them whether it is horseback rides, pillow fights, videos or games. Marianne and young MIchael were joined by Uncle Tom and Ari , and Aunt Katie, Uncle Dan, Ellie and baby Thomas for dinner on Friday night. The menu included rosemary ranch chicken kabobs, roasted mini potatoes, corn on the cob, and broccoli. Ari and Michael played with some new play dough eggs and used cutters to cut out various shapes.

The next morning, Saturday, Tom and Ari got up early and Ari and I made blueberry pancakes for breakfast. Ari is a great helper making the pancakes. After that Ari helped her Dad wash his car in Mom Mom’s driveway. Uncle Mike also helped. It sure was a dramatic transformation, the car was gleaming in the sun!

After that Uncle Mike, Tom , Ari and I went to the Farmers Market where Ari bought a rainbow snow cone while I shopped for fruits and corn on the cob. We also stopped at the Charles County Mobile Library where Ari was able to pick up two craft kits and a book about unicorns. I had fun catching up with a former co-worker Karen.

Ari enjoyed the corn on the cob on Friday night and requested it for Saturday night’s dinner. Saturday night’s dinner included butter chicken, rice, and corn on the cob. Katie stopped by for dinner to visit and brought a salad from Panera. It was very hot those two days so the children had to find their entertainment inside.

Marianne and Michael returned after dinner to enjoy some ice cream and popsicles with everyone. Ari and Michael had fun playing in the large bath tub with bubbles galore. It is always a great time when most of the brothers and both sisters get together to swap stories and catch up with one another. Even more fun to see the cousins interacting and playing with one another. In the age of pandemic, these get togethers mean so much and make a mom and grandmother’s heart swell with pride!
