Saturday, May 3rd, was a very special day for our family, especially for my youngest son, Stephen. Stephen was marrying Elisabeth, the beautiful woman who captured his heart at St. Jane Frances De Chantal Church in Riviera Beach, Maryland. All their months of planning became an awesome reality as Stephen’s brothers, Michael (best man), John and Tom and Elisabeth’s brother Jon acted as groomsmen. Elisabeth’s sister, Catherine, was her maid of honor and her best friend, Jessica, was one of the bridesmaids along with Stephen’s sisters Marianne and Katie. Madeleine, Elisabeth’s cousin Sophia’s five year old daughter, served as the flower girl and Tommy, Katie’s almost four year old son, was the ring bearer.
It was a great family affair as relatives came from far and wide, Canada, New York, Pennsylvania and Indiana to join in the festivities. Having everyone present and feeling the love in that space was amazing!
After they exchanged their vows everyone proceeded to Celebrations at the Bay in Pasadena, Maryland. After a cocktail hour, the new bride and groom were formally introduced and danced to the song they had picked out. The dinner was delicious, the speeches by Elisabeth’s dad, Glen, her best friend, Jessica and Michael were exceptional. Two standout surprises were the letters Elisabeth wrote to all the guests and a sketch artist who was available to make sketches of the guests throughout the reception. My sister in law, Terri and my sister Mary Anne created a very attractive candy bar so the guests could treat themselves to candies of their choosing. While the adults enjoyed catching up with one another, the nieces and nephews enjoyed getting out on the dance floor with their parents and playing tag with each other. The celebration continued until everyone joined in a bubble ceremony wishing Elisabeth and Stephen the best. It was a very memorable event!
