This year our family gathered on Christmas Eve to celebrate with one another and reflect on our most recent joyful year. This year we were blessed with a new family member, Noelle, Katie and Dan’s baby who was born on December 8th, joining big sister, Ellie (6) and brother, Tommy (4). It was wonderful having a baby in the house at a time when we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
All of the beautiful grandchildren are growing and are finding success not only in school, but also in their lives. Several of them are taking piano lessons, Ari, Cami, Ellie, Michael, and Nora. They have enjoyed participating in different sports during the past year. Ari and Cami playing soccer, Ellie and Tommy playing T ball, Michael playing kid pitch and Nora playing basketball. They keep their parents very busy and Uncle Mike and I have enjoyed going to their sporting events and piano recitals.
The excitement they bring to the Christmas season is unmatched and it is such a thrill to have them spreading their joy to one another when visiting. They decorated gingerbread houses (a yearly tradition), and this year decorated chocolate reindeer cupcakes. They looked forward to eating dinner together because after that they gathered in the living room under the tree to open their Christmas presents.
Opening their presents was the highlight of their celebration and they eagerly tore the paper off the gifts to see what they were. They were all happy with the presents and then got to empty their stockings for smaller presents. Finally, they had their milkshakes (another yearly tradition) and said goodbye to each other as they returned home to wait for Santa Claus’ visit.
Nora and Hannah and their parents Georgette and John spent the night and were happy when they woke up Christmas morning to find out that Santa had noticed they were here and put their presents under Mom Mom’s tree. The other grandchildren were thrilled with the presents Santa left at their houses, too. Once again everyone had a very Merry Christmas and new memories to go with it. Looking forward to enjoying the New Year, 2026 with the family!
