The Great Persuader

Several days ago, my 4 year old grandson Michael and his Mom, Marianne were visiting. At the time of the visit, my son Michael, daughter Katie and her husband Dan were also here with my 10 month old granddaughter, Eliana.

My grandson had been here quite awhile and was about to leave to go home with his Mom. His Uncle Mike said he was going to go for a walk, and Michael decided that everyone else present should go for a walk, too. He started by saying, “C’mon guys, let’s all go for a walk.”

He didn’t get any takers. No one else was really interested in going for a walk. He was very persistent and didn’t let up on the pressure. Michael is very dramatic and he threw his arms out addressing his Aunt, Uncle and Grandmother. “C’mon everyone it is a nice day for a walk. Let’s go!”

He spent at least 5 minutes urging them to accompany him and his Mom on the walk. I really didn’t feel like it, so I told my daughter Katie she could leave Eliana with me while she joined Michael on the walk. Eventually everyone caved to the pressure of his insistent pleas and they all got up to go around the neighborhood with him.

This certainly was a Kodak moment and wish I had video recorded his pep talk to everyone!
