Our Special November Birthdays

Three of my granddaughters happened to be born in November. Ariana, my first granddaughter, was born on November 14, 2015. Hannah, my third granddaughter, was born on November 16, 2017. Eliana, my fourth granddaughter was born on November 18, 2019. So the past weekend was a festive time of partying with these beautiful granddaughters!

My son Tom, Ariana’s dad, thought an Escape Room adventure would be fun for her Aunts Marianne and Katie, Uncle MIke, and Uncle Dan, and cousins Michael and Eliana. They headed to Alexandria where they were locked in a room of Supervillains and charged with the task to escape before 1 hour elapsed. With everyone working together as a team, they were able to exit with 12 minutes to spare. Then it was off to Tom’s for some fun time at the playground, pizza party, pinata, opening presents and finally playing Ariana’s new game The Floor is Lava.

Saturday afternoon on November 15th, Eliana had her birthday party at My Gym in Waldorf, with 17 enthusiastic children doing both free play and structured activities for one and a half hours. Her parents Katie and Dan and Eliana’s grandparents were happy to be there as well as her aunts and uncles and cousins Ari and Michael and Hudson and her baby brother, Tommy. This was followed by pizza and juice for the children and everyone singing , “Happy Birthday” to Eliana. After that the immediate family returned to Mom Mom’s house for chocolate cake and another rendition of Happy Birthday for both Ariana and Eliana. It was a very memorable and fun day for the cousins.

Sunday afternoon, Uncle Mike and I drove up to my son John’s and his wife Georgette’s home, where we wished Hannah a Happy 4th Birthday. We shared an Italian dinner and had chocolate cupcakes for dessert. It was so nice to see Hannah and her big sister Nora, 5. Uncle Mike read a book to the girls and I did, too. The girls showed us some of the art projects they had been working on. They are very interested in art projects and do a lot of them with their Mom. It is always great spending time with their family.

Blessings come in many ways, but the best ones to me are the beautiful grandchildren who bring joy to every day life. Happy Birthday girls!
